What progress did you make since your previous entry?

This week me and my partner had to just add the music and voice over the pack shot as we had finished editing the whole advert together. When were adding the voice over we had to make sure it suited emotion of the advert, we managed to get the music and the voice over added to the advert and me and my partner believe that it has made a huge difference, we hope that it will reflect on our grades which we receive.

What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

What logistical challenges we faced this week was that when choosing the background music we had to make sure it was copy right free so we were able to use this made it a lot difficult for us to find the right background music, we were looking for something upbeat that will make our advert more lively. luckily after searching we found a background music which we could use as we asked permission and confirmed if we could use it, then the wrote back saying we could, this helped us a lot as we were 100% certain.

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

The technical challenges which me and my partner faced today was that when we were rendering the advert advertisement it took a long time and then every time at the end it didnt let us render last clip, we attempted 3 or 4 times then we looked up solution but there was none, but we tried one last time and then it worked. Also when downloading the music from YouTube it was very hard as the was no website which we could access that allowed us to download music this was due to the school blocking most of the website for safety reason this meant me having to download it at home then putting it on a USB device the importing it after that it did work.

What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

After all the hard work which we have put in this project, we have managed to finish the advert completely to a high level, this means that this will be the last entry for the production logs.

Production Log Week 6

What progress did you make since your previous entry?

This week me and my partner have been very busy editing as we have been editing in any free time which we had and the deadline is coming close. We managed to put do rough copy by putting it on the timeline it looks really good and we are so glad that we changed the idea it was worth all the hard work and stress we went through.

What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

A logistical challenge that we faced this week was that due to an human error two of the groups were put on one mac and then luckily the other group just went on another mac as they had not started editing yet, this meant us being able to just continue normally without any issues.

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

A technical challenge for us this week was that when we we finished adding all the footage to the timeline we saw that we had gone over length of time which it was meant to be as we were on 45 seconds long and the advert was meant to be only 30 seconds, this meant us having to cut down a lot, but it was very difficult as we had a lot of dialogue and it really would have not made sense if we cut the dialogue out, but luckily we thought of a strategic way were we just shortened the talk but cutting down the response of each character and keeping it basic we then managed to cut it down to 30 seconds.

What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

Our targets for next week is to have our advert rendered and uploaded onto YouTube after adding the music in the background as we believe that would make a huge difference as it can make it more entertaining for the target audience to watch and also we need to add a voice over the end over the pack shot of the chocolate bar.

What progress did you make since your previous entry?

What me and my partner have done this week is that we have finished recording the whole of the new advert which we put together as we thought it would make better sense. We were very lucky that we found a location very nearby where we thought it would be the best location to film in due to the scenery of the alleyway it would appeal to our target audience. This week has been very hands on as we have used every time we had outside of school to make sure that we can do this, we were very lucky as we begun to edit this week, we first uploaded the footage to the imacs, then we created a new project on final cut X, we then began to put together the footage into a time-line.

What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

This week when we were filming our new idea we had a problem with actors due to the fact that we suddenly decided to change the idea, this meant us having to call our friends for help but due to the fact that it was last minute and most of our friends were focusing on their exam it would be difficult for us to get them, however we luckily found two actors who were at the park that day and they agreed to do it so it worked out at the end.

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

A technical challenge that we had faced this week was when we actually went on the imacs, we were finding it very difficult to import the video due to the programme keep giving us a error message, this meant us having to import the clips via a camera with the memory card inserted into the camera, this then resolved the issue which we were having.

What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

This week we did not have as much time editing due to us finishing getting the footage, however we did managed to get the footage inserted which means next week would just putting it in place on the timeline.

What progress did you make since your previous entry?

What me and my partner have done this is that we gone out and started to film the whole advert due to us finishing all the pre-production work last week. We filmed in a local area where we had access to a school. 

What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

A logistical challenge that we had faced this week was that when we were recording our advert we thought it was very basic and we thought that it really did not show any creative skills, this is why after recording the whole of the advertisement in our classroom we had came up with a new concept that followed the tradition from previous Wispa adverts but we would have a mordern twist to it.

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

The technical challenges that we had this week was that when i had placed a memory card into the camera and it kept on having a error message saying that the card was not able to read, we then got a new camera the error message was still occuring, this is how we know it was the memory card which meant us having to change it for a new one, we were very lucky that we checked it before we actually went out to film. 

What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

Next week what me and partner hope to achieve is that we will go and re-record our new idea of the advert and then we can asses which one we believe would be the best and which idea meets the brief the best.

Production Log 3

What progress did you make since your previous entry?

This week we managed to do a lot of the work as we now have officially finished doing the pre-production which means that we will be able to start filming, what paper works we did was risk assessment and budget list etc, when producing the risk assessment, we had to produce one for each location stating what the risks were and how high or low the risk was.

What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The logistical problems we face this week was that when we producing a the risk assessment we had to state the risk and this was very hard as we had to think on the spot what the hazards could be, how we came over this was that we went visited the location were we going to shoot the advert then we could just see the hazard then we would be able to tell if it was a low, medium or high risk and how we would overcome it.

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

Technical constraint was that when we were producing the risk assessment we found it hard to use thew layout as it had to be in a specific table which we had to make sure that we wrote different elements in each box so that we can justify our points and this will help them asses the dangers and what not. 

What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

What we aim to do next is that we want to go and record the whole advert as there advert is short we aim to film it in a day but have schedule due that fact there might be issues with the weather or due to the cast.

Production Log 2

What progress did you make since your previous entry?

This week is the first week where we have started to do our pre-production work, so we can plan on what we are doing and where, this would help us be more organised as will know what we are doing for sure, this week we have started doing the crew and cast list this is where we decided who will be in it and when.We also done the location recce this where will decide to film.

What logistical challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The logistical problems we face this week was that when making the cast and crew list we had to make sure that the cast and crew was 100% before putting the names down and it was difficult due to the fact that the exam times were near this meant it hard finding the cast, however at the end we managed to get two actors who gave us the avability and then we just scheduled around their free time.

What technical challenges did you face this week and how did you overcome them?

Technical constraint we had this week was that when were saving the documents on word my partner accidentally placed it in the wrong place this meant us having difficulty finding the document, however after some time we managed to find it after searching each individual document separately, it took time but was worth it as we put a lot of hard work in to it.

What targets do you aim to achieve before your next entry?

What we aim to do next is that we want to try our best to do as many pre-production paperwork as we can by separating the work between each other, after doing that we will be able to start finishing all the paperwork.
